How it works

  1. The tool combines up to five answers: your birth day, one or two intentions, how you will wear the stone, your budget and, if you like, a colour. Everything is calculated in your browser; nothing is sent or stored.

  2. The birth day follows the Thai system of day colours (สีประจำวัน): Sunday red, Monday yellow or white, Tuesday pink, Wednesday green, Wednesday night grey or black, Thursday orange, Friday blue, Saturday purple or black. A stone is linked to a day when at least two independent groups of Thai sources name it (national press, jewellers, shops); a single mention counts for less.

  3. The score is shown line by line: listed day +40, single mention +12, colour of the day +8, each intention +25, chosen colour +10. Constraints remove points (water not advised -20, sun -15, soft stone worn daily -15, over budget -25) or rule the stone out (water forbidden, or a warning if you ticked that box).

  4. Prices come from a survey of Thai online shops made in October 2026: an 8 mm bead bracelet, otherwise a tumbled stone. When no reliable price was found, the tool says “price not recorded” rather than inventing an estimate.

  5. The Nopparat (นพรัตน์), the nine gems linked to the planets, is a separate tradition: it is shown on the stones concerned but plays no part in the score. Intentions are beliefs (Thai press, Judy Hall's catalogue), not proven effects.

Frequently asked questions

What is my Thai birthday stone?
According to the most cited Thai lists: Sunday ruby and garnet, Monday pearl and moonstone, Tuesday rose quartz, Wednesday emerald and jade, Wednesday night obsidian and onyx (sold as นิล), Thursday citrine and tiger's eye, Friday lapis lazuli, blue sapphire and turquoise, Saturday amethyst and นิล. Lists vary between sources: the tool shows how many sources name each stone.
I was born on a Wednesday evening: which stone?
After 6 pm you count as born on Wednesday night (พุธกลางคืน), a day linked to Rahu (พระราหู) and to grey and black. The most cited stones are obsidian and onyx; pyrite appears in two shops. A few sources keep Wednesday's green: the tool follows the majority tradition.
Why is blue sapphire on Friday and not Saturday?
Two systems coexist. Birth day lists follow the colour of the day, and blue is Friday's. The Nopparat links blue sapphire (ไพลิน) to Saturn, hence Saturday. The tool uses the day colour for the score and shows the planet separately.
Does a price within the range guarantee a genuine stone?
No. The prices show what people usually pay; a very cheap bracelet is often glass, dyed or reconstituted, but a high price proves nothing either. Our authenticity checker lists the common fakes for each stone.
Do crystals have health effects?
No effect has been demonstrated. Links to days and intentions are cultural beliefs, and the tool presents them as such. A stone can go with a personal intention, but it never replaces medical advice or treatment.
