Daily Tarot
Shuffle, cut, turn over: the daily tarot gives you one card that stays the same all day (personalised with your first name if you like) and full 3, 4 and 5-card spreads for past, present and future, love or career. Every card in the 78-card deck has an upright and a reversed meaning, plus a reading for each area of life. A free tool for personal reflection, calculated in your browser.

Daily Tarot
How it works
The deck follows the structure of the Waite-Smith tarot, published in London in 1909 by Arthur Edward Waite and the artist Pamela Colman Smith, which is the reference deck for most readers in Thailand and worldwide. It has 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana, from the Fool (0) to the World (XXI), and 56 Minor Arcana in four suits of 14 cards (ace to ten, then page, knight, queen and king). The illustrations on this site are original designs: frame, emblem, suit colour and Roman numeral, without copying the artwork of any existing deck.
The order of the Major Arcana differs between decks: in the Tarot de Marseille, Justice is VIII and Strength is XI, while Waite swapped the two. This tool uses the Waite-Smith order (Strength VIII, Justice XI), the most common one in Thailand. For the Minor Arcana it uses the majority correspondence inherited from the Golden Dawn: Wands with Fire, Cups with Water, Swords with Air and Pentacles with Earth.
Your card of the day is not drawn at random on every visit: it is calculated from today's date and, if you enter it, your first name, using a fixed formula. You get the same card all day long, on every device, and a new card is waiting at midnight. For spreads, the tool genuinely shuffles all 78 cards on each click, then writes the result into the link so you can share it or come back to it.
Each card has a one-in-two chance of coming out reversed, as in a deck shuffled both ways. Waite already gave a reversed meaning for every card in his 1910 book, but not every reader uses them, so you can switch them off. Upside down, a card does not become 'bad'; it rather points to energy that is held back, delayed or turned inwards.
The meanings were written for this site from the most widely shared interpretations in the tarot tradition. Each of the 78 cards has its own love, work and money reading: a Three of Swords does not speak of love the way a Ten of Cups does. Behind each text lies the classic way of reading the minors, the theme of the suit combined with the stage of the number, refined card by card. The spread summary counts the Major Arcana (many majors signal an important period, according to tradition), the dominant suit and the number of reversed cards.
Tarot is a tool for reflection and a cultural practice, not a science: it does not predict the future, your health or any winnings. Treat the cards as questions to ask yourself. For any health question, see a professional; for an important financial or legal decision, ask a qualified adviser.
These tools give general information. They do not replace the advice of a doctor or a qualified professional.
Go furtherTarot readingFrequently asked questions
- Why do I get the same daily card when I try again?
- That is by design: the card of the day is calculated from the date and your first name, so it stays with you all day instead of changing on every click. It changes at midnight. If you want fresh cards, use the 3-card, love or career spread, which shuffles the deck every time.
- What does a reversed card mean?
- In the tarot tradition, a reversed (upside-down) card expresses energy that is held back, delayed or experienced inwardly, sometimes an excess or a lack of what the card represents. It is not necessarily negative: the Tower reversed, for example, can point to a crisis avoided. You can switch reversed cards off if you prefer to read upright only.
- Is the Death card a bad card?
- No. In the tarot tradition, card XIII is not about physical death: it stands for the end of a cycle and a transformation that makes room for something new. In the same way, the Tower or the Devil mostly invite you to become aware of something. No card announces a certain event.
- Is tarot accurate?
- Tarot has no scientific value and does not predict the future. Many people use it as a mirror: the images and words of a card help put a situation into words and think about their choices. Keep your own judgement and, for health, money or legal matters, ask a professional.
- How many cards are in a tarot deck, and which matter most?
- A divination tarot deck has 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana, which speak of life's big stages, and 56 Minor Arcana, which describe everyday life through four suits (Wands, Cups, Swords, Pentacles). When a spread contains many Major Arcana, tradition sees it as a significant period.
- How do I do a love tarot reading?
- Choose the love spread, think about your question (a current or future relationship) and shuffle. The five positions describe you, the other person, what connects you, the challenge to get through and where things are heading. Each card is read through the lens of feelings. The result is something to reflect on, not a certainty.
- Can I draw cards several times a day?
- For spreads, yes, but tradition advises against asking the same question again straight away: the first reading is often the most telling. Take time to reread it, and come back later or the next day if the situation has changed.
